Fun first, true to life

Everything you learn here works in a real garden

🌱 Real crops, real seasonsRadish, lettuce, beans, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, corn and pumpkins grow on their real days-to-harvest, compressed so a farm day takes 3 minutes.
🧪 Test before you feedEvery bed has its own pH, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, organic matter and moisture. Use the soil kit, then lime, sulfur, compost or bone meal.
❄ Frost and weatherA real temperate-zone calendar: summer harvest, fall sowing, first frost in mid-October. Read the forecast and throw row covers over tender crops.
🔍 Inspect, diagnose, treatAphids, nitrogen hunger, drought wilt, frost and powdery mildew. Read the clues, choose the cause, and pick a fix. One option is a myth, one does harm.
📖 Farmer's Almanac31 illustrated cards that unlock as you play, each with a sourced fact, a prevention tip and a try-it-at-home project.
🏡 Toward independenceAn Independence meter tracks how much of a household's food your farm grows. Water, energy, heat, health and income are coming next.

🌾 Early access: tell us what you think

Farming Acres is brand new and the name is temporary. Your farm saves in your browser and keeps growing gently while you're away (nothing goes wrong while you're offline). Coming next: compost, crop rotation, rain barrels and drip irrigation, more pests, then chickens, bees and goats, an orchard, a kitchen for preserving, and off-grid power.
